OUR GOAL: We have raised $20,000 to build a school in rural Cambodia and provide a year's salary for a teacher. Our school is now open in Kampong Cham, Cambodia! We plan to continue to sponsor the school every year, and possibly build more schools as our group grows.

WHY: Many girls are forced into brothels to become prostitutes for the rest of thier lives. Some are tricked or kidnapped by sex traffickers, but others go willingly thinking that they can make a living by being a prostitute. Many of them contract STDs such as AIDS. With proper education, we believe, as do other international organizations concerned with Cambodia, that these girls would be less likely to end up in a brothel.

WHAT: For 19,000 dollars we can build a school that will educate about 400 students. We can provide a fully qualified English teacher for a year and a computer. We hope to continually sponsor the school for years to come. The organization we are working with is called American Assistance for Cambodia.

WHO: We are a group of students at Assumption High School in Louisville, Kentucky who are trying to make a difference in the lives of Cambodian girls.
